The optical department is managed by Janetta (Licensed Optician) and assisted by Katie (Licensed Optician), with support from Anna, Nichole and Michaela (Optical Assistants).

Purchasing glasses does not have to be stressful, we are here to assist; from frame selection, measurements, and lens options to suit your needs. Our trained optical staff uses top of the line technology and tools for precise fit and measurement.
We accept VSP and EyeMed Vision plans. Our professional optical staff can assist with your benefits questions. 

At Eye Care for Rhode Island, we carry an extensive frame collection with over 1,000 frames in stock. Our frame selection includes a wide range of designer as well as quality frames to fit any budget.

    Our professional optical staff will review doctor recommendations and your lifestyle to help determine the best type(s) of eyeglasses to fit your needs. At Eye Care for Rhode Island, we are able to accommodate a variety of prescriptions. We will help you select the right lens and materials to fit your needs.

    How often do I need to change my prescription glasses?

    • We recommend that you update your glasses whenever your prescription has changed.
    • At your annual eye exam, your doctor will perform a refraction test to determine your prescription.
    • If you feel that there has been a change in your vison, contact our office to book an appointment.

    How long does it take for my glasses order? 

    Orders typically take about 7 to 10 business days, depending on the complexity of your order.


    How do I clean my glasses?

    We recommend lens cleaner with a microfiber cloth. These are conveniently available for purchase at our office.


    If cleaner and cloth are not available:

    • Rinse glasses with warm water
    • Use a little bit of liquid hand soap and gently move your thumb and finger across the lens to clear any oil or residue
    • Dry gently with a cloth
    • Do not use ammonia base products, vinegar or household cleaners
    • Do not use paper products to wipe you lens

    What if my glasses feel loose or tight? 

    Our professional optical staff is happy to assists with adjustments for your glasses.


    What if I broke my glasses? 

    Our professional optical staff is happy to assist. We can repair your glasses or check your warranty coverage.
